Radeon x850xt : Out of Range

Postby Revan1985 » Sun Sep 02, 2007 13:44

Hi all, i have a problem whit the Sabayon Installation...
Now, i have a Ati Radeon x850xt 256mb, and, when i try to install Sabayon, i got this video problem.
My lcd send me the video Message "Out of range".
In old linux installation i got this error, and it's caused by a wrong Video Parameters.
I explian better :
The video card is sending an out of range video signal [ too high in Refresh Rate ].
I'm able to install the system whit the Text mode, but when i start Sabayon, i can't do nothing for this error.
Now, also the liveDvd do this, how i can resolve it?
Or better, how i can change the installation/System video refresh rate to 75hz?
and video dimension to 1024x768?
Thx to all ^^
I want to try this linux

While in the terminal, as root type
Code: Select all
nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
This will bring an editor for the config file that controls X, look up your monitors manauls, and get horizontal syn and the verticle refresh rates, in the xorg.conf file there should be something similar to this, how to change it should be self explanitory,
Code: Select all
Section "Monitor"
    Identifier     "Generic Monitor"
    HorizSync       28.0 - 80.0
    VertRefresh     43.0 - 60.0
EndSection

hen hit contorl + x, y to save, then you can issue
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/xdm restart
to restart the display, and all should be well
