Does eix conflict with equery?

My equery commands have stopped working correctly. They only give me information on what's currently installed, but the -p option won't list information from the portage tree. This started about the time I loaded eix, and ran eix-sync.

Does eix-sync break the way equery looks through the portage tree?

To follow-up on my previous post, I'm not sure what caused my equery to stop showing results from the portage tree, but it probably wasn't eix-sync.

I have a second box that I am installing Sabayon-Linux, and equery is working fine on that box even after I did pretty much the same thing with setting up eix.

Has anybody else had equery quit working right for them? I'd still like to sort out what is going wrong.
