Problem with sabayon 7 KDE update

Postby ace-cro » Fri Nov 04, 2011 21:47

Hi all.

I've manged to install sabayon 7 on my laptop and I've managed to update it w/o any problems. Later I've downloaded kopete with USE for skype from portage. I know I am not supposed to mix the repositories, but I never had this problem before. Anyway now I get the following error no mater witch of the reps I use:

Code: Select all
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/portageq", line 820, in <module>
    main()
  File "/usr/bin/portageq", line 801, in main
    retval = function(args)
  File "/usr/bin/portageq", line 648, in envvar
    print(arg +"='"+ portage.settings[arg] +"'")
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/proxy/objectproxy.py", line 37, in __getitem__
    return object.__getattribute__(self, '_get_target')()[key]
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/__init__.py", line 588, in _get_target
    return _get_legacy_global(name)
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/_legacy_globals.py", line 34, in _get_legacy_global
    portage.db = portage.create_trees(**kwargs)
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/__init__.py", line 476, in create_trees
    config_incrementals=portage.const.INCREMENTALS)
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/proxy/objectproxy.py", line 30, in __call_
    result = object.__getattribute__(self, '_get_target')()
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/proxy/lazyimport.py", line 129, in _get_target
    __import__(name)
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/package/ebuild/config.py", line 29, in <module>
    from portage.dbapi.porttree import portdbapi
  File "/usr/lib64/portage/pym/portage/dbapi/porttree.py", line 20, in <module>
    from portage.cache import metadata_overlay, volatile
ImportError: cannot import name metadata_overlay

If you can shed some light on this problem I would be grateful (python-upater not working either).

Well yes the first time. I've had to reinstall the system, witch would eliminate the problem. But every time I try to install anything from protage I would get the same results.

Nope :(

Nothing has changed. Also I noticed I can't download torrents. I tried to use BitTorrent but i got this error:

Code: Select all

    t = self.gen.next()
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/BitTorrent/Torrent.py", line 534, in _initialize
    tracker_ips = df.getResult()
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/BTL/defer.py", line 61, in getResult
    r.raiseException()
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/twisted/python/failure.py", line 338, in raiseException
    raise self.type, self.value, self.tb
herror: [Errno 3] Unknown server error

Although I managed to install python3.2
