emerging entire system with newuse [Solved]

Postby OKAN » Sat Nov 06, 2010 20:55

I have installed 5.4 Kde. I updated all system with equo. And then I have changed make.conf according to my own desires.

Code: Select all

When I used the following command
Code: Select all
emerge --deep --update --newuse -av @world

the output is the following:
Code: Select all
# emerge --deep --update --newuse -av @world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

!!! Multiple package instances within a single package slot have been pulled
!!! into the dependency graph, resulting in a slot conflict:

app-office/openoffice:0

(app-office/openoffice-3.2.1, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
(no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot)

  (app-office/openoffice-3.2.1-r3, installed) pulled in by
    >=app-office/openoffice-3.2.1-r3 required by (x11-themes/sabayon-artwork-ooo-5.4, installed)

It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously.  If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simultaneously. You may want to try a larger value of
the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if
that will solve this conflict automatically.

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man
page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=sys-apps/portage-2.2_rc39" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- sys-apps/portage-9999 (masked by: missing keyword)
- sys-apps/portage-2.2.0_alpha4 (masked by: missing keyword)
- sys-apps/portage-2.2.0_alpha3 (masked by: missing keyword)
- sys-apps/portage-2.2_rc67 (masked by: missing keyword)

(dependency required by "app-admin/packagekit-base-0.6.8" [installed])
(dependency required by "@selected")
(dependency required by "@world" [argument])
For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge
man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

When I used autounmask
Code: Select all
# autounmask sys-apps/portage-2.2_rc39

 autounmask version 0.27 (using PortageXS-0.02.09 and portage-2.1.9.24)

 * Using repository: /usr/portage

 * The given category/package-version does not seem to exist. Listing existing versions:

 * gentoo (/usr/portage):
     sys-apps/portage-2.1.6.13
     sys-apps/portage-2.1.6.7
     sys-apps/portage-2.1.7.17
     sys-apps/portage-2.1.8.3
     sys-apps/portage-2.1.9.24
     sys-apps/portage-2.2.0_alpha3
     sys-apps/portage-2.2.0_alpha4
     sys-apps/portage-2.2_rc67
     sys-apps/portage-9999

 * Please pick one of the versions given above and try again.

What should I do?

To unmask the rc versions of portage, I have in /etc/portage/package.keywords:
Code: Select all
<sys-apps/portage-2.3 **

and in /etc/portage/package.unmask:
Code: Select all
<sys-apps/portage-2.3

It was a recent change in the ebuild that made me add the "**" in the keywords file.
