Silents,
you also trying to install packs in user mode, this should be made in root mode.
or with sudo, as in ubuntu.
the mono package deps are difficult to control in portage....
installing from equo command our from the gui spritz is much more easy

Micia, in all of their posts... the user was carried out the commands in user mode ! (see the signal $)

eff@netbook ~ $ equo install --ask linux-sabayon-2.6.29
>> Repository sabayonlinux.org hasn't been downloaded yet.
>> Repository sabayonlinux.org is not available. Cannot validate
>> !!! Please update your repositories now in order to remove this message!
>> Running with --pretend ...
>> !!! No match for linux-sabayon-2.6.29 in repositories.
>> No packages found.
>> @@ Caching complete.
jeff@netbook ~ $ eselect kernel list
Available kernel symlink targets:
(none found)
jeff@netbook ~ $ eselect kernel set 1
!!! Error: Target "1" doesn't appear to be valid!
Killed
jeff@netbook ~ $

for some reason i have no idea why when i go to my Repositories it shows it downloading the sabayon.org but then it comes up with this Repositories synchronization ...
[svn.sabayonlinux.org:1026] Successfully connected to host
[svn.sabayonlinux.org:1026] Successfully disconnected from host

Yes, it is so, and I realized it, only too late :(

You should use equo and emerge as root when updating repositories
or installing, sorry for not specifying that...

[EDIT] and eselect too.

from the wiki page
open a terminal and enter su with your password and if you did it right your prompt will change to # DO NOT sudo
