Cannot merge pulseaudio-0.9.17-r51

Postby Fitzcarraldo » Wed Sep 16, 2009 2:41

Couldn't get the darned thing to build today when upgrading to KDE 4.3.1. Fixed the ebuild for 0.9.17-r51 in accordance with Gentoo Bugzilla Report No. 285022 and regenerated the manifest, but the merge still didn't complete. Here's the last part of the console output when the build goes pear-shaped:

BTW, I have upgraded to libxcb 1.4 (Gentoo libxcb 1.4 Upgrade Guide) in case that has any relevance.

Has anyone got pulseaudio-0.9.17-r51 to build under KDE 4.3.1 (or any other version of KDE, for that matter)?

hmmmm I use portage version here as I am on corecd with gnome and don't have the sabayon overlay added.

media-sound/pulseaudio
Available versions: 0.9.9-r54 (~)0.9.9-r55 (~)0.9.15-r2 (~)0.9.16 (~)0.9.16-r51 {X alsa asyncns avahi bluetooth caps dbus doc glib gnome hal ipv6 jack libsamplerate lirc oss policykit tcpd test udev}

Installed versions: 0.9.16-r51(03:08:37 PM 09/12/2009)(X alsa asyncns avahi bluetooth caps dbus glib gnome hal ipv6 tcpd udev -doc -jack -libsamplerate -lirc -oss -policykit -test)

How the flags match up?

I guess I would submit a bug with full log for thevoodoo

No dice, I'm afraid. I tried installing both 0.9.17-r51 (which is an SL overlay ebuild) and 0.9.17-r50 (which is in the main Portage tree) with the extra USE flags you have enabled (asyncns and caps, but not gnome as I'm using kde) but got exactly the same error messages. pulseaudio-0.9.15-r1 installs without problem:

Code: Select all
# eix pulseaudio
[U] media-sound/pulseaudio
     Available versions:  0.9.9-r54 0.9.9-r55 (~)0.9.15-r1[1] 0.9.15-r2 (~)0.9.16-r51[1] (~)0.9.17 (~)0.9.17-r50 (~)0.9.17-r51[1] **9999[1] {X alsa asyncns avahi bluetooth caps dbus doc glib gnome hal ipv6 jack libsamplerate lirc oss policykit tcpd test udev}
     Installed versions:  0.9.15-r1[1](03:23:57 16/09/09)(X alsa avahi bluetooth dbus glib hal jack tcpd -asyncns -caps -gnome -libsamplerate -lirc -oss -policykit -test)
     Homepage:            http://www.pulseaudio.org/
     Description:         A networked sound server with an advanced plugin system

[1] "sabayon" /usr/local/portage/layman/sabayon

Can't think of much else to try. If I still get nowhere I'll file a bug report.
