thanks for the link but how do I insert an ebuild and then how do I emerge all kde 3.5.10 ebuilds. I have never delt with ebulids before so I'm not really sure what they are or do.

Gentoo will probably have this fixed shortly, so the best advice might be to wait a few days.

However, make sure and rebuild kde-base/kdelibs first. I'm pretty sure the problem is embedded in the way that package is built, even though you don't get the error on that package.
