Intel Q6600 + MAKEOPTS question.

Not sure but my t2600 runs properly at "-j16" for the mobile core duo 32bit or I can run 32 threads with 80% usage in windows not that that means anything.

In MAKEOPTS="-j ??? " what should the Q6600 quad core proper -j be ?
minm of -j64 or -j128 ?

Any ideas on this. The cpu+1 was correct way back in P4 country i686/k6 cpu's not k10 amd and Quad cores as we now have as default.

Not absolutely sure but on the netBSD forums they say j20 works well

Im still a bit of a nab at linux (after 1 year ) but if you want me to do anything in SL or windows or w/e im happy to help

I plan to install 3.4 mini tomorrow so i can give feedback on compiling times and whatnot. Anyway... im going to bed

Just had a little think. They may mean -j20 per physical processor so therefore -j80

Just had another look. I dont think people are too sure, theres some with -j5, some with -j20, some with -j50 etc etc
