vlc

hi
i was installing vlc .. the was a power shut ... and now when i try installing vlc with portato 0.8 it kind of does up to 3 of 4 ... and then when it's on vlc 0.8 whatever .. it says waiting for lock on ... and then it stays there ...

is there a way to completely cancel what it was doing ... vlc and everything ... delete everything
and start compiling fresh?!

you can delete the lock

example:
rm -f /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/.freetype-2.1.10-r2.portage_lock

substitute the line above with what ever package is locked
