You should add and sync the Sabayon overlay as well:

sabayon overlay should be installed as default.

Well, I used http://best.sabayon.org/iso/Sabayon_Linux_11_amd64_K.iso to run a fresh installation. The installation process ended succesfully. Thanks for good work at this point!

When entering

# layman -l

there's only an empty output, so it seems to be NOT (in every case).

I'd like to know, why. Maybe there's an error message in an installation .log file. When looking into to logs at /var/log/installer I didn't know what keyword to search. ( Couldn't find "overlay" ) Can anybody help?

I can. That's why I pointed it out. I wasn't 100% sure, if I had not made a mistake back then …
