Postby science lover » Thu Aug 16, 2007 2:25

Hi, I just recently installed sabayon linux and was wondering how I can get/use beryl on it(The way I found out about sabayon was through the beryl project website.)

beryl doesn't come with 3.4 and higher as beryl project is dead and has merged with compiz-fusion.

It should be autostarting, if not run the acel-manager and make your selection and restart X, if still fails, than you may have to manually edit the xorg.conf and make sure these lines are uncommented
Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "true"
Option "Composite" "Enable"

without knowing hardware it's hard to say if it will work at all for you, again - when posting, provide the info needed to provide an answer

hardware: AMD athlon 64 x2 dual core running at 2.1 GHZ

1gb ddr2 667mhz ram
160gb hard drive
nvidia GeForce 6150 LE integrated graphics
a dvd/cdrw combo drive

anything else?

(do you think perhaps I should try to reinstall?)

edit: yay, I got it working!! I logged in under "desktop accelerator" or something and chose a setting and now it works, thank you!!
