Beryl is disabled after installation

Postby oc666 » Fri Jul 06, 2007 13:04

Hello
I'm new to Sabayon.
When I installed Sabayon, I disabled the 3D effects for quicker installation. Although, I thought that the installation will install beryl and activate it. Unfortunately, the beryl isn't active but installed.
How could I activate the beryl? And if I was enabled beryl in the installation, was it activate automatically?

I'm using LG LE50 laptop with RS400 [Radeon Xpress 200M].

Thanks for the helpers.

run accel-manager and make your selection than logout and restart X

upon logging in a Red Gem should be in your systray, right click on it and make sure the Launch fall back Window is unchecked, you don't want a check mark in front of that. Select your window manager or make sure it is set to beryl and select your window decorator - than reload each one, hopefully it will work

Thanks, man
I just reboot instead restart X, cause after logout and ctrl+alt+backspace the Red Gam wasn't in the systray.
Another problem - I just configure alt+shift to change language, but it's not doing anything. How can I fix this or maybe I did something wrong?
