Sabayon Style / KDE update

Postby ScottishDuckHunter » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:55

After all my years with linux this is the first time i'm ever actually going to upgrade KDE from within my disto.

Only question i need to ask is: When i've upgraded, how will i return to my sabayon styles?

How did you merged the config files ? I once accepted all changes in some new KDE packages and I lost Sabayon style login screen. After reverting back to orig. files, all was back.

does that change with the kde update?? I thought that changed with the world update since I normally do that off the bat. I guess I don't care for the SL login screen so I usually change that anyway.

I have not done world update, I always just update packages which are new. There were some config files to merge seemingly in default KDE configuration.
I liked KDE artwork much more, so I cared. :)

I updated to KDe 3.5.7 and have the same problem.

I want my SL login screen back!

Can't you just choose it under the KDM theme menu?? There should be a Sabayon option, IIRC.

Or you could try looking on kde-look.org. I recall there used to be a Sabayon style login theme available there for download, which you could directly install..

Hi,
Very important tip for world updates in Sabayon: DON'T accept configuration files changes on /usr/kde/3.5/etc...

Cheers,
Eduard

Wish I'd have heard that one back when I updated. Would have saved me a bit of time. :x
