Cursor theme not sticky

Under SL 9 Gnome, change the cursor theme from the default. This means launch Advanced Settings, make the change under Theme|Cursor Theme, quit, and re-launch Advanced Settings.

Every time you log in as the user who made this change, you must repeat all the above steps every single time. The change does appear in the Advanced Settings dialog, but it is not actually honored.
