KDE/PLASMA active

Has anyone else tried it on anything other than a touch screen? I am running kubuntu 12:10 plasma active on my netbook(HP 110-3510nr) and it is very scketchy but adding openbox and it becomes usable. Does gentoo have anything like this and is sabayon going to have a spin at it?
