It would be easier for us if you upload the logs to pastebin (there is a limit of 500kb, but we need only the last 1000 lines or so) and post the links to it.

cheers

OK. Do you have a Intel graphics card?
I see that "x11-libs/libva-1.0.14" for intel got installed.

As i can see from your logfiles, at the time of "upgrading" you were running Xorg-1.11.4
But during upgrade, "org-server-1.10.4" got installed.
So you have intel drivers compiled for 1.10.4
it gets a bit complicated.

On what repository are you currently?
you can check that as root with:
Code: Select all
equo repo list

my guess is that you're on sabayon-weekly,
These are the steps I would probably do to get the system up and running again:
disable weekly repo, (if enabled, otherwise skip this step)
Code: Select all
equo repo disable sabayon-weekly

enable sabayonlinux.org repo, (if already enabled, skip this step)
Code: Select all
equo repo enable sabayonlinux.org

uppdate repository,
Code: Select all
equo update --force

first install entropy, sulfur, rigo, rigo-daemon, equo,
Code: Select all
equo install entropy sulfur rigo rigo-daemon equo --relaxed

update again,
Code: Select all
equo update

upgrade the system,
Code: Select all
equo upgrade --ask

Watch the output for messages that Entropy gives, hopefully this will straighten up some things.
Eventually, if needed, reinstall following packages:
Code: Select all
equo install x11-base/xorg-server-1.11.4 x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.11 x11-libs/libva-intel-driver-1.0.15 x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.18.0

This is from the entropy file. I hope that it is enough but tell me if you need more:

And here is the messages file:

batvink:
So I was able to carry out the first command and disable sabayon-weekly, however when I tried to enable sabayonlinux.org it said:

Code: Select all
[sabayonlinux.org] repository not available

I then tried to add it using:

Code: Select all
equo repo add repository|sabayonlinux.org|

However it just gave me

Code: Select all
>_

With the underscore blinking.

And as a result I could not carry out any of the subsequent steps either.

Okay... thanks. I am on the second last step. That is, I am running

Code: Select all
equo upgrade --ask

Everything else got running after I enabled the sabayonlinux.org repo. So all I need to do is wait for the thing to finish downloading and installing the upgrades and then I am onto the next step of installing the xorg thing.
