Fonts broken after update (squares instead ... [Solved]

Postby udiljak » Tue Apr 24, 2012 20:48

Hello everybody.

After I just updated my system all letters in gnome disappeared and little squares replaced the letters. The update included a lot of X11 stuff and also X11-drivers.

In Xorg.0.log there are the following error messages:
[ 35.669] (EE) Failed to load module "dri" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 35.722] (EE) Failed to load module "dri2" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 36.715] (EE) fglrx(0): atiddxDriScreenInit failed, GPS not been initialized.
[ 36.966] (EE) fglrx(0): XMM failed to open CMMQS connection.(EE) fglrx(0):
[ 36.966] (EE) fglrx(0): XMM failed to initialize

I can still use xterm, but not gnome-terminal.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Ben

I think the answer is to reinstall gdk-pixbuf and x11-libs/pango
