KDM error

Postby oboedad55 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 22:13

Hi, after typing in password, while KDM starts I get the following error:
"Device Notifier Could Not Mount the Following Devices:"
Then it list the partitins I have Sabayon installed on. KDE starts and runs fine, I'd like to get an idea of what this error could mean. Thius is KDE 4.8.2, x86_64.

Don't have the problem myself, but a post on 22 Dec. 2011 in a thread in the Gentoo Forums (KDE Device Notifier cannot mount drives [gone away]) by someone else experiencing the same error message as you in Sept. 2011 suggested modifying the file /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.udisks.policy "directly", without giving an example. Anyway, in case it's of any help to you, here are the contents of that file on my laptop running KDE 4.8.2 ~amd64:

Thanks for the reply. I think I know what he meant by editing the file directly as I had already done that to make sure I could mount internal drives without the root password. In any case, I tried replacing the file with yours, my original, then my edited file. Makes no difference. Everything works OK, it's just kind of annoying.
