Notification area causing problems with xfce 4.8 and compiz

Postby Pale » Fri Apr 13, 2012 12:29

I'm having this problem: http://thistleweb.co.uk/blog/20/11/2009/compiz-notification-panel-xfce his fix doesn't work for me. I don't have compiz under my session tab nor can i change the priority of items. I installed compiz and compiz-config with equo install fusion-icon.

Any type of program that uses a notification icon causes the whole panel to stop working properly. Window buttons still stay open after being closed, and notification icons are scrambled. The only solution is to reload the window manager, by right clicking the icon that is to the left of where the fusion-icon is.

Im out of ideas and searching has given me nothing but the above URL.

Also, I don't know if it matters or not, but my installation of sabayon 8 didn't come with xfce. It came with gnome 3. I haven't removed gnome 3. I can switch between gnome 3 and xfce by logging out and choosing the proper session before logging in.

Any help is much appreciated.
