Compiz is not drawing window contents [Solved]

Hello,

I am having some issues with compiz.I am running Sabayon 6 64 bit with Gnome as the desktop manager. The graphics card on my laptop is ati.

When I am rapidly scrolling through menus, the contents are distorted much like watching a scratched up DVD. Also, the window manager fails to draw the contents of a window. For example, when I open a terminal I only get a blank box with window decorations.

I have verified that OpenGL implementation is set to ati and that compiz is the window manager. I have been lucky enough not to encounter these issues in the past and I don't know where to go about debugging it.

Any tips on this would be nice. Thanks.

More info please lspci will list most of what we need, type of laptop amount of ram, cpu and so on might help us help you, have you tried deselecting Loose Binding and/or Indirect Rendering from compiz options when right clicking compiz fusion icon

Hello and thanks for the reply. I deselected the two options in the compiz icon menu and that solved my issue.

The laptop is an HP Tx2z "Touchsmart". Specs are roughly 4 GB of RAM and the processor is: AMD Turion(tm) X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile ZM-85 roughly 2.3 GHz
