Beryl Desktop Mgr as Default

I installed SL3.3 - my first ever look at Linux. Later, I did Live CD boot of Ubuntu. Now, Beryl is not the default, but instead it is MetaCity. I can set beryl as teh desktop manager, but how do I set beryl as the boot default manager? It must be there, but I can't seem to find it? Of course, I am a newbie.

you should download the 3.4 mini cd as beryl is no longer supported/used

3.4 has the new improved Compiz-Fusion

In 3.3 the beryl manager should be auto working, but I highly suggest 3.4

Strange. Booting an Ubuntu LiveCD should not affect what's on the HDD.

Are you having to run Beryl Manager manually, or is the Beryl Manager icon appearing automatically in the top Panel?

If you click on 'Select Window Decorator' in the Beryl Manager pull-down menu, have you got 'Standard Beryl Decorator (Emerald)' selected? And have you deselected 'Launch Fall-back Window Manager if beryl crashes'? (If Beryl Manager is not already running, type beryl-manager in a Terminal window first.)

Also, there should be a file called beryl-manager.desktop in the directory /usr/share/autostart/
