Sabayon boots into standard KDE desktop after install

Hi

I have migrated from Suse10.2. I have 2 hard disks, a 80 GB, and a 300GB.
The 80GB is formatted with /boot; swap ; /
The 300Gb is fornated in LVM (home_partition) with the followong groups - home, books, docs, video, photos.

At the install i mount these as /home/username/books and leave unformatted except for home ( mounted as /home/username)

When i boot however the great sabayon desktop doesn't come up but rather a plain KDE desktop. the live CD has the sabayon desktop with compis and AIGLX running smoothly ( I use a Nvidia card)

How do revert to the sabayon desktop including the startuo sounds.

Please help
