Black Secondary Windows

I'm running the latest sabayon distro (I think), and compared to Mandriva I'm impressed. However, I have a problem with 3d acceleration; any secondary window in an option is completely black. I believe the drivers are installed because I get the Nvidia splash screen. My guess is that I have to increase allocated graphics memory, but I don't know how to do this or how much I typically need.
