Monitor resolution problem

Problem SOLVED.

After a long combination of possible options in xorg.conf and a fresh reinstall I have now the desired 1024*768 resolution after uncommenting the Modelines and adding

Code: Select all

Option "Metamodes" "1024x768"

to the Monitor section of the Xorg.conf

CF is running fine and smooth.

Post scriptum:

Well...it worked that session. After the next reboot, total failure: Compiz doesn't work, all the icons and menus are fuzzy, there is no hw acceleration, not even the XGL option in Acceleration Manager!!!.
I'll try a fresh reinstall but....
