I have an AMD 64 X2 3600+ PROCESSOR WITH 512 mb ddr2 ram and a 250GB SATA HDD , on an MSI board(k9n gm-l)
i have installed Win xp and Sabayon linux 3.3 (i think r3)
i created the user account "siddharth" on installation which works perfectly. The problem i now face is that i cant add more users in GNOME as it refused to load the "USERS and Groups" window with an error saying "There was an error running a backend script"
So i turned to gnome to add users to samba in control centre ... this is what happened:-

step 1: I go to samba option in " internet and network" option in control centre:=
step 2 : i add the 2 users as samba users
step 3: I close and restart Control center and restart it to find the users list empty .. i was working as root
my pc is not connected to the internet but is connected to another pc called mars .. thats why i want to set up a samba server .. the other pc uses win xp pro
please help!!!
