problems with Intel Wireless 4965AGN setup in knetworkmanage

Postby kaptajnen » Sat Jul 28, 2007 11:36

I have a Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN card in my ASUS labtop - and I have just installed the driver from the intellinuxwireless.org site with succes. I am able to scan for access points and Associate to my network though the shell.

BUT i can't get on the net - and knetworkmanager doesn't recognize the wireless connection - how do I get this working.

if you're doing everything through shell you need to set both dhcp and a correct dns so:
1) disable networkmanager
Code: Select all
rc-update NetworkManager del

2) once you have associate with the ap beg for an ip address
Code: Select all
dhclient ethx
where ethx is your wifi card
3) edit /etc/resolv.conf and add a correct dns
Code: Select all
echo "nameserver AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD"
where AAA BBB CCC DDD is a correct dns, you can also point it to your router
