Workaround is simple: sudo mount -a but how can I make the mounting persistent?
One issue that I am going to test myself is that I have the mapping mount in /mnt/... which I understand is technically for temporary mappings and I should ideally use /media however as I've never encounter an issue before I never correct this bad practice.
Well it doesn't seem to be related to the mountpoint. Switching to mounting in /media/... has had no discernible effect.
