I look after 4 Desktops and 4 Toshiba Laptops and 1 Gateway Laptop with OpenSuse used by my extended family. I have become tired of upgrading each time OpenSuse drops support of their previous release. I want give Sabayon a go because of "rolling upgrades", but have wireless problems:
Hardware: Toshiba 64 bit Laptop PSK8A-09V003, RTL8188CE / RTL8192CE wireless chip.
The laptop connects to the router but can not ping the router.
I had the same problem with OpenSuse 12.2. This was fixed by " lwfinger". He build a .rpm to patch the kernel 3.4.6-2.10-desktop and driver (rtl8192ce). This lasted until a kernel update to 3.4.11-2.16-desktop until a new .rpm was build.
What is the best way to get a updated wireless driver for to make Sabayon usable on my laptops?
I tried Gentoo. It's to complicated to install and configure on a Desktop and Laptop.
