Wicd and NetworkManager [Solved]

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask you something about the network managment applications used in sabayon.
I use KDE version of Sabayon (I've been using it for two years) and, since yesterday, I have used "knetworkmanager-9999" package as the manager of my connections.
Some months ago something changed in the repos (probably due to some instabilities of "knetworkmanager"...withouth the -999) and knetworkmanager-9999 became the default package.
Now, after upgrading to kde 4.8.2, equo suggests me to remove knetwormanager-9999: i did it but, since I wanted a manager for my wifi connections, I installed wicd following the wiki (everything smooth and working great!), and I even installed the dedicated kde plasmoid, lovely!

Ok........ now, after lots of changes, I would like to have a clear overview of the situation. As far as I understood, there were some problems with knetworkmanager (that's why a -9999 package was created in sabayon repo), now I decided to install wicd and I'm currently fine with that.
The question is: I also have "networkmanager-0.9.2" package installed on my system (I don't know if they were installed from some kde-related pkg or if I installed them accidentally when I wanted to try to install Xfce on my system too): can I uninstall them flawlessly or there going to be problems with connections under kde? (ps: I don't care anymore about xfce, it's gone! anyway I could have some interest in installing open/flux-box on my system in the near future...).

Furthermore, I would like someone to explain me what are the plans for a real kde-native network manager (since I thought knetworkmanager was the one, but it was casted away from the repos). Is knetworkmanager going to come again? is networkmanager (without the k) going to replace its k-cousin? are we going to see a conquest by wicd?

KNetworkManager is history. The KDE GUI front-end to NetworkManager was replaced by kde-misc/networkmanagement many months ago.

KNetworkManager was never a "kde-native network manager"; it was always a front-end to the DE-agnostic NetworkManager, The KDE front-end for NetworkManager is now the Plasmoid kde-misc/networkmanagement.
