Can't locate Iptables rules file [Solved]

Postby kxp » Wed Jan 04, 2012 17:52

Hello everyone
I have instaled Sabayon 7 core in my old P3 and no problems but now I nedd to configure iptables and I can't find the folder where they are usually store /var/lib/iptables But I kwon they are loaded from any location because when I do
Code: Select all
iptables -L
I get all listed rules.
I want to change those rules to the file I have for other distro and worked for routing and NAT.
Other problem I have, is that network manager doesn't store wireless networks passwords, I have to keep introducing then.
Thanks

I have allready looked into that, I don't know if I solved the problem, because when I do
Code: Select all
iptables -L
i don't get anything but if I do
Code: Select all
iptables-apply
I get all my rules, but I don't know if my problem is caused by iptables, or dnsmasq.
A few moths back I used arch linux to configure this pc as a router and everything works nicely, but I have problems and copy all configuration files of dhcpd, dnsmasq, and iptables, to a pendrive, and then installed sabayon and kwon I can't make those same config files to work:S
This is really my problem:S

If you check out this :
Code: Select all
sabayon ~ # more /etc/conf.d/iptables
# /etc/conf.d/iptables

# Location in which iptables initscript will save set rules on
# service shutdown
IPTABLES_SAVE="/var/lib/iptables/rules-save"

So rules are saved there.
You can import all rules there and it should be ok.
Or you save your rules as iptable script, run the script and do /etc/init.d/iptables save

For network manager which DE are you using ?

See Gentoo Bugzilla Bug Report No. 392409. It is fixed in networkmanager-0.9.2.0-r2 but, until that gets into the Entropy repository, see the work-around in Comment #1 and Comment #6 in the bug report.
