WiFi and Update

I have an older HP/Compaq laptop with a Broadcom WiFi, not sure which one. I've been using 5.0 for several months, and WiFi has always worked very well, with no special effort getting it up and running. Within the last 2 weeks, I ran an update, and since then it won't turn itself on with boot-up. I installed 5.1, again it worked fine, until I ran an update. It would seem that one of the updates is killing it, but which one???

After a bad experience with Mandriva and SUSE on my older laptop, I was so psyched that Sabayon worked with both my crappy Broadcom WiFi and sound chips instantly.

Now, like you, updates have killed my WiFi. The WiFi active icon on my laptop doesn't light up anymore which pretty much tells me a driver update has killed it.

I am downgrading via the install DVD as I type this.
