acx module for 2.6.31 kernel?

I upgraded my install of sabayon 4.2 to 5, and my wireless doesn't work. I have Netgear wg311v2 which needs acx module (not included in 2.6.31 kernel). I installed linux-sabayon-sources with equo and did emerge --sync && layman -S
Then I tried emerge acx and the compile failed -- this is r2 of acx, the only one available. I'll post the error msgs tonight but I think I had the same problem with the 2.6.29 kernel some time ago, and got a successful compile with r1 of the acx module, which is no longer available. acx should be either built in to the kernel or available as a module easy to install with equo. I'll file a bug report as well. Thanks for any help!

P.S. -- Gnome and KDE 4.3 are working but KDE 3.5 doesn't start -- kdeinit fails -- is this normal?

I tried ndiswrapper but I couldn't get it working, tho it says driver installed, hardware present (alternate driver acx).

I installed wicd with equo but it didn't work --

I usually get wireless working in console with modprobe, ifconfig, iwconfig and dhclient ... more details on wicd later also.

this adapter work without external drivers.

No that's incorrect -- wg311v2 requires acx driver -- it's not a realtek chipset. wg111v2 is a realtek chipset, but that's a different device.

Sorry i have read wg111v2 , you can post error when you compile acx driver.

I tried both of the older ebuilds for acx and neither of those compiled -- similar error msgs.

I'm trying to file a bug report on this but I never get the activation email for my account in the bugs webpage.

I've compiled the kernel trying to build the acx module into the kernel tree -- not finished yet.

This acx module should be much easier, and I would have the same wireless problems with a fresh install of 5.0.

Is KDE 3.5 still supposed to be working, or must we use only KDE 4 now?
