wireless problem

hi,
i need help getting my wireless internet on.
i've installed the driver off serialmonkey and sabayon seems to recognise my card but can't find my AP.
when i 'iwlist wlan0 scan', i get nothing. can anyone help?

all the extra info i know how to get is below:

my wireless card according to lspci:

You didnt say what version of Sabayon you're using, but I'm gonna assume that its some flavour 3.4, there was a few isssues with that chipset in 3.4, they've all been resolved in P.E. tho, and therefore 3.5 will be fine too.

I hope you used the package manager to do that, not a good idea to install outside of portage.

i didnt use the package manager because i cant get online. i have a small windows partition so i downloaded the drivers off the site. bad idea?

what if i use ndswrapper? has anybody been successful with that?

If you look at the second post it shows you how to get it working with ndiswrapper.

no luck. it seems to have made the situation worse. any other ideas?
