Sabayon wont recognise/connect to proxy [Solved]

ok here goes
ive finally got my ralink 2500 going (Sweet!!!)
i can connect to my network (techically not my network)
i can get an IP address
I can ping my friends computer
I can ping the router

Ive set up proxy files in these locations
first ones are proxy.sh , proxy.csh in profile.d
next i set up 99local in what i think is init.d cant quite remember.

ive issued the command echo $http_proxy and it issues back
my proxy setting of username:password@proxy:3128

what i cant do even after setting up proxyies within them is connect to the internet

have i found a bug?? i think i have.

Ehr.. If you can ping IP's or connect to IP's, but anything else won't work, you need to look for DNS settings, not proxy.

if i set up the dns through net-setup do think it will be fine?

well im in linux and im replying so i must have done something right.
