I am aware that there have been several posts with the same title but i have not found the answer to my problem yet. (even though i have checked all three pages of posts). I am a rather new user of linux, even though i have come in touch with it several times during the last 3 years.
My Toys:
I have a Intel P4 2.6Ghz, 256Mb of Ram, a 128Mb ati radeon 9200se video card and a asus cd-writer. I have downloaded the SabayonLinux-x86-3.3b.miniEdition and burned it on a cd (i have downloaded it twice from two different mirrors and burned it twice: once a 16x and at 4x).
What i have done:
I have inserted the cd into the unit and chose to start the live installation (or how it is named) and waited. During the loading process everything went well (in verbose mode everything was marked with ok

) Then the Booting The System window appears. It loads rather fast till it gets to approximately two thirds of the whole process. It then hangs. The cd-writers`s led and keeps flashing, the harddisks led also flickers, and nothing else happens. Whether i choose any other option (at the begining) i end up with the same problem. I must say that i have let the system boot for 30 minutes and it did not advance at all.
I really want to make it work on my 4-year-old computer. If any of you have any idea, please do not hesitate to answer!
