cant boot livedvd kernel panic: root?

cant boot livedvd kernel panic: root?

im new to linux, and im really interested in wat sabayon has to offer.
but im trying to boot the live dvd and i get this messege



VFS: cannot open root device "<null>" or unknown-block(9,0)
please append a correct "root=" boot option; here are the available partitions:
0b00 1xxxxxx sr0 driver: sr
0800 2xxxxxxxx sda driver: sd
0801 64xxxxx sda1
0802 179xxxx sda2
kernel panic - not syncing: vfs: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(9,0)

e6300 1.8ghz dual core
x800 ati
2gb firestix buffalo ddr2 800
Foxconn P9657AA-8KS2H LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
ALREADY took out my sound card (x-fi extreme music)
sata2 hd
sata dvdrom

It could be that it needs a extra driver to be loaded at boot menu of live dvd or that the download did not properly complete , use force recheck in the torrent program or use the md5 check sum to make sure it is okay / same a md5 hash.

Might have to add insmod=ati or similar and using the correct option after insmod=
Check gentoo.org forums for the same motherboard and a possible driver / module to get it to work.
Then use F5 on the live dvd and add insmod= ??? to the options it lists.

This should work with correct option / module.

i checked my dvd, reburned n everything
same error still

its probably wat u said about some extra option that's incorrect but i dont know wat to do from here
installing sabayon 3.4a (new one)
