can't access tty; job control turned off

Hey!
I tried to install Sabayon on my Dell D830 but the installation (as well as the Live-CD) stop with the message

umount: Couldn't umount /newroot: invalid argument
!! Could not find CD to boot, something else is needed!
>> Determining root device...
!! The root block device is unspecified or not detected.
Please specify a device to boot, or "shell" for a shell...
boot() ::

I put "shell" there and then got:

BusyBox v1.1.3 (2007.03.13-20:10+0000) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

/bin/ash: cant access tty; job control turned off
/#

What does this mean and is there any way I can use Sabayon on my notebook?

The stats:
I use the current Sabayon 64-bit version, have a Dell D830 notebook with core 2 duo cpus, GM965 graphics chip, onboard sound, 120Gb HD, 2Gb Ram.
