mount dvd drive: system error

hello,

if i want to mount a audio cd or a dvd movie, i get a system error. there is no error message, just a blackscreen or a freeze desktop - so i must shutdown the system manually.
i don't know where is the problem or how to search for an acceptable solution.

i hope you have any ideas an can help me.

edit: i use the sabayon 3.3 dvd edition. centrino notebook, 512 RAM, ATI mobility radeon x600.

OK,

i think it was the old ati driver. after the update it seems to be ok (i hope so). nevertheless beryl doesn't work. ati is ati is ati...
