Booting from mini = ok. Booting from DVD = no go

Ok, I might've lied, while I can successfully boot from the mini, I still get some weird errors. These exist when using 3.3 mini/dvd and the 3.4 loop2 dvd.

Code: Select all

These are on the screen when the splash screen says "Initializing kernel"

You can see that I have a Athlon64, but the versions of sabayon I've been using are regular x86 - I wouldn't think that it would cause a problem.

I also cannot boot with any options on the livedvd, X just doesn't want to go. You know the step where it says it's waiting while X is being configured? I let that run for about 30 minutes (was watching tv) before finally just powering down and starting over.

Are there some other cheat codes I need to try, or ones you think should work...or...do you have any idea what those first errors are about?

I don't know why I didn't find this before.... but this somewhat explains the error messages (haven't actually confirmed yet)

Don't think so, and that's what I thought at first. But I burned it multiple times for each iso AND tested it on another machine.

Honestly, no matter what I try, the dvd is a no go with me. Who knows, it might be an excuse to build a new machine =)
