could not find the root block device [Solved]

I am using an acer aspire one a0722. I installed just fine. /dev/sda1, sda2 & sda3 are occupied by windows 7 and its recovery stuff. I made sda4 an extended partition. Anaconda chose sda5 as /boot and installed lvm on sda6. The specific error that comes up when I try to boot is:

Windows 7 boots just fine from Grub 2.

The sabayon 9 live cd has a bug. It can't see logical (extended) partitions after boot. Please see my other post:

The issue is resolved in the livecd from a few days ago.

I was having this problem, and watched this thread for the solution. I went and downloaded the daily from July 29th, and tried that (download and burn are both good), but I'm still getting the same problem.

sda5, sda6, and sda7 are three different linux distros. Sabayon is on sda7. When booting fails, I'm asked to provide a different value, and trying "/dev/sda7" also fails.

What's next? Also, I don't know if it's related, but I now have to skip mounting sda7 when I boot into my main distro. I did not have to do that before my installation of Sabayon on that partition.

For me, I couldn't even boot any computer that had logical partitions with the sabayon 9 release disc. I was able to install on a machine that didn't have logical partitions, but added logical partitions during the installation process and then got the error from the first post.

What I had to do is completely wipe the sabayon partition and reinstall with the daily cd. Not sure if that helps at all.

I had already wiped the partition and started new with the daily. I did it again, and this time I let the Sabayon installer also install the boot loader. I had previously NOT installed a boot loader, I just ran "update-grub" on my main Linux OS. Letting Sabayon install the boot loader seems to have fixed the problem. I don't want Sabayon as the default choice, so now I have other issues to deal with, but Sabayon boots now, at least.
