Installation from a running system

Postby ph03 » Tue Nov 08, 2011 21:34

Hi!

I'm a gentoo user for many years but recently felt in love with sabayon, thanks for this great distro!

I was wondering if the installer is also able to be used from a running system to install sabayon onto a different HDD (which is partitioned along the way by the installer)? I would like to chroot into the installed new sabayon and configure it while I'm still working on my running gentoo. I was wondering if somebody has ever installed sabayon this way? I didn't find anything in the forum / wiki.

I am trying to do it with Virtualbox, but Sabayon doesn't allow me to manually select partitions.

So in your case yes you can do it easily.
