Grub cannot see Arch on a seperate hard drive [Solved]

Postby Foxblood » Sun Oct 09, 2011 17:47

Hi, all,

I re-installed Sabayon on to my main hard drive. I also have Arch installed on another hard drive. Grub can see Sabayon and Win 7 on the main hard drive but fails to detect Arch on the other. grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg doesn't help.
fdisk -l gives me this:

which distro controls grub?
If it is sabayon, need to boot sabayon mount the arch partition before running grub-mkconfig

You would probably need to mkdir /mnt/arch or whatever you want to call it.
Edit fstab and add arch to it, then mount the partition or reboot to see if it mounts automatically from your work in fstab.
Code: Select all
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

should now find arch and add it to grub boot menu

If not, add manually.
