Grub bug with Sabayon 6 [Solved]

Postby bartman » Tue Aug 16, 2011 18:38

Hi,

I wanted to have a Sabayon6 installed into a PC already with win7 on my Sda1, and Sabayon on sdb as LVM.

The partition manager doesn't see the sda so the grub was only installed on this 2nd disk.

I tried to boot with a rescue-cdCD and did a
Code: Select all
nfs3g-mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/windows
grub2-install --root-directory=/mnt/windows /dev/sda1

Unfortunatelly, I not only lost the MBR but also the windows boot itself.

So after retrieved the windows boot, I'd like to know how to have a Sabayon+Win7 dual boot working please.

Try EasyBCD and chainload GRUB 2 on sdb? See Step 3 in HOWTO: Dual boot Sabayon Linux and Windows.
