SL 5.5 Server Install failure

I am trying to install SL 5.5 Server on a VM Virtual Box. The host machine is Windows 7.
When I load it up to install it boots to console. From there I type Installer as it prompts me too, only to receive an error. It states "No volume group, Could not initialize a connection with hald....", So I do "/etc/inid.d/hald start".

This gets it to load the installer but after choosing language and keyboard it gives the error "Error processing drive: /dev/sda 21504MB ATA VBOX HARDDISK This device may need to be reinitialized....Device details: pci-0000:00:0d.0-scsi-0:0:0:0" I have options to ignore, ignore all, re-initialize, re-initialize all.

Upon choosing either option I get another error. "Anaconda 14.3 exception report.... DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files"
