Install stuck at 55% weird error message

Postby mawga » Sat Apr 16, 2011 19:41

I have been trying to install for about 5 hours but cant get past this particular point.
I have an hp dv7 and all seems fine with the kde install until it gets to 55% and the following error message appears

udevd[4651]: worker [4660] failed while handling '/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1a.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.3/1-1.3:1.0/net/wmx0'

I wont even pretend to act like I have an idea what that pertains to.
it gets to this pint and literally the CD stops and harddrive stops spinning.

Any suggestions?

I have no idea what is the cause of that error message either, but, if I were in your position I'd try a couple of things: First I would check the md5sum of the ISO I had downloaded, and also verify the burnt LiveDVD (see Checking the integrity of a LiveDVD/CD). The other thing I would try would be to create a LiveUSB using UNetbootin, boot that and see if I could install SL from that instead of a LiveDVD.
