Cannot find where GRUB2 keeps it current config [Solved]

Need to reinstall it, because some crap appearing in menuentrie-s

But cannot find from where GRUB2 reads its menu - booting shows a version of menu that is different from /media/sda1/boot/grub/grub.cfg and from /boot/grub/grub.cfg/.

IDK of consistency, just need to know that GRUB2 will boot next time I format any of my partitions, or move Sabayon's root for example.

I used this command:

find -P /mnt/sda1 -name grub.cfg


I found directory named "boot" on my /media/sda1, seems I didnt mounted it, and then somehow installed grub there. Sorry

I have the same thing. I assume it's because I created a separate partition for the bootloader:

/dev/sda1 is a primary partition (Windows 7 factory restore partition)
/dev/sda2 is a primary partition (Windows 7 C: drive)
/dev/sda3 is a primary partition (Grub2 bootloader)
/dev/sda4 is an extended partition containing the following logical partitions:
/dev/sda5 is a logical partition (swap)
/dev/sda6 is a logical partition (/)
/dev/sda7 is a logical partition (/home)

Funnily enough, there is an empty directory /boot on my root partition (/dev/sda6). To access my Grub2 grub.cfg file on the boot partition (/dev/sda3), I do the following:

# mkdir /mnt/my_boot_dir
# mount /dev/sda3 /mnt/my_boot_dir/
# cd /mnt/my_boot_dir/boot/grub/
# ls grub.cfg
grub.cfg
# cd /
# umount /mnt/my_boot_dir/
# rmdir /mnt/my_boot_dir/
