(5.0) hangs on starting X

Hello,

I have a Dell Precision (M90) and the life DVD of 5.0 hangs at the point that the X-server is trying to start and the screen remains black/blanc. Only turning off the computer will get out.

I have tried to get into the life environment, graphical install and text install. Same result.
Previous version (4.2) installed and worked fine.

Any idea how to get past this hurdle?

This Laptop has a NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M as graphics card and 1920x1200 screen.

Well I figured out to use the vesa driver with the boot parameters.
Now next question is how to find the right driver for permanent use. The vesa driver is very slow.

Just boot using "Safe Mode" to install, without changing the driver.
