Black Screen right after choosing install Sabayon11 [Solved]

Hello there,

I installed Sabayon11_x86 with MATE in VMWare Player and it's working perfect. So I chose to replace the Ubuntu installation on my laptop with Sabayon. I burned the ISO to a DVD, and made a USB-Stick with unetbootin. But with both of them i get the same problem. Right after i choose Installation (or any other option, e.g. safe mode, console mode) I just get a black screen. The only thing i am able to do then, is to power off the notebook.

I already tried to use some bootoptions i found here in the forum, like acpi=off, or appending the ati "cheat code". But nothing helped.

My Notebook is a Compaq 615 with integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200.
Maybe someone here has got a good idea to help me, I'm not the biggest Linux crack.

(And by the way: Is it possible to mount my ubuntu home partition as /home in Sabayon, or will I have to use a backup of my data?)

Assuming cheat codes you tried gave no results, I suggest you to check md5sum of ISO and then burn on DVD at lowest speed.
I do not know what else can be.

MD5sums are correct.

I gave unetbootin another try and I don't know what happened, but it's working now.

Are you sure, your driver supports your graphic card? Looking at the Gentoo documentation it is not. So you would have to choose the opensource one.

I think Sabayon will boot using KMS and therefore open source drivers

Kernel updates are not forced to users. If you do not
intend to update your kernel or you don't even know
