I have 2.4 installed from the packages but how do I launch? It does not show in KDE

are you already in the games group? If not do as root

# gpasswd -a yourUserName games

Is it launchable from the terminal? Then you may create a .desktop file and add it to the KDE-menu.

I don't know when 2.6 released. But if you want it you should request a version bump.
