World of Warcraft 3.13 with wine [Solved]

Postby HansWurst » Wed Jul 08, 2009 18:43

Hi all
I tried to play World of Warcraft 3.1.3.9947 using wine in Sabayon and KDE. Installation and updates work perfect. However when I try to start the game I get the following error message:

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 157 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext)
Value in failed request: 0x21
Serial number of failed request: 138
Current serial number in output stream: 138

The same with root account.
I have sabayon 4.2 KDE
wine 1.1.23
NVidia Drivers 185.18.14
glxinfo says, direct rendering:yes
glxgears gives me: 1150 frames in 5.0 seconds = 230 FPS - THAT SEEMS TOO LESS, HUH?

My system is
Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz
NVidia Quadro 3500m (which is the same as a Geforce 7950GTX)

I would be thankful for ideas
Greetings
Hanswurst

glxgears is not a benchmark, it serves to the sole purpose of
testing if your driver works.

If you got compiz turned on, try to deactivate it and retry with wine.

I found the issue!
My opengl driver was eselected to Xorg instead of Nvidia
#eselect opengl set 1
simple
Thanks micia for your idea!
